What are the Best Days to Visit the Expo?

While the dates for 2009 run from 4 May to 9 May, be aware that not all programme activities (trade and stud cattle show, commercial cattle display) occur daily. An outline programme is available fod download on the home page with final details of session times, speakers, tours and further information released in late 2008. We suggest you read the programme closely to ensure that you don't miss your favourite areas of interest.

How do I buy tickets for Programme Activities?

Tickets for Programme activities will go on sale following the publication of the detailed programme in late 2008. Due to limited places in many Expo activities advance bookings via on line or phone purchase of tickets is encouraged.

Do You Have to be Part of the Beef Industry To Attend the Expo?

While Beef Australia is primarily a showcase for the nation's Beef Industry, it is also a celebration of Beef as a product and the rural Australian way of life. So though you may not own any cattle, you can still join us for a great steak at one of our restaurants, cooking tips with Celebrity Chefs, all day entertainment, rodeo and campdrafting action and a wide variety of great activities at the Showgrounds.

How can I be an Exhibitor at the Expo?

The trade fair prospectus including site options, pricing and other relevant details will be available from August 2008.

In order to ensure you receive a prospectus please contact our office with your details at your earliest convenience.

Where is Australia's National Beef Expo?

Beef Australia is staged within the heart of Australia's Beef Country, Rockhampton in Central Queensland. Rockhampton is 45 minutes inland from the Capricorn Coast and Great Keppel Island and is a 7.5 hour drive north from Brisbane. The Rockhampton Airport services flights to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne as well as connecting to other local destinations.

Why is Rockhampton the Nation's Beef Capital?

When you see the many statues of Australia's predominant Cattle Breeds greeting you at welcome portals into the city you'll know you have arrived in the Beef Capital. Home to two major processing plants and one of the country's most active and state of the art Sale yard facilities, Rockhampton has long been a service centre for graziers and their four million cattle in the Central Queensland region.

What Can I Do And See Before and After the Expo

Central Queensland offers a number of pre and post activities. As a gateway to the outback there are numerous tours, farm stays and rural adventures for visitors to the area. The southern tip of the Great Barrier reef is also accessible through the Capricorn Coast Area. For further options we recommend a visit to Capricorn Tourism's website at www.capricorntourism.com.au.

How can I secure Accommodation?

While Accommodation is always tight for the Beef Expo, there's generally a spare bed to be found for visitors at hotels, motels, caravan parks and our own tent city accommodation. As premium accommodation during the week of the Beef Exposition is limited we recommend you book early by calling Rockhampton Tourist & Business Information on 1800 805 865 reserve accommodation for the Exposition.
